Bio:
Stan Buglass (b. 1999, London, UK) lives and works in London, UK.

In my recent work, I explore the complexities of deindustrialisation and the managed decline of Great Britain through working-class mythologies, forgotten masculinities, and national symbols. I use painting and sculpture to layer decaying infrastructure alongside fragmented automotive bodily forms. I employ both old and new industrial processes, such as foundry work and automated CNC carving, to reflect on Britain’s industrial and cultural past alongside imaginings of a new industrial futurism.

Within my work, I emphasise current forms of cultural entropy and the sociology of ghostly generational memories, in order to monumentalise declining working-class cultures of production. My formal investigations emerge from reflections on personal and familial experiences of work and take shape as process-heavy cross-sections of architecture, sites of labour, machines, and the cultural residue of managed industrial decline. I earned my BA from Central Saint Martins in 2021 and my MFA from Arizona State University in 2026.
